"Ip Man" is a 2008 Hong Kong semi biographical martial arts film. The film was loosely based on the life of Ip Man (aka Yip Man), a grandmaster of the martial art Wing Chun and master of Bruce Lee. The film focuses on events in Ip's life that supposedly took place in the city of Foshan during the Sino-Japanese War.

This next video is not a typical Wing Chun video that you would find online. What you will usually find is people demonstrating Wing Chun's training methods like chi sao, drills or Wing Chun vs. Wing Chun sport oriented sparring etc. and they are usually portrayed as real fighting.

However, NO ONE fights that way.The purpose of this video is to better demonstrate how Wing Chun should work in a real fight scenario, in a more realistic way; more true to life in our modern day.

Here is a taste of how Pugilism and Western Martial Arts thrived in the past and how well thought out it was. This is a fight scene from one of the Sherlock Holmes movies. Robert Downey Jr. does a great job demonstrating it.
